In Memory Of Michael Laird, Friend of Eddie Vedder

On 12-15-91 The Wolf lost 22 year old intern Michael Laird in an auto accident.  Michael became friends with Pearl Jam when they played Ohio for the first time and interviewed Eddie Vedder on top of a bridge. Mike was a sweet person well liked by everyone.  He had a great career ahead of him.  Here is the plaque that hangs in the Wolf Studio in his memory and below is Mike's interview with Eddie and a video of Eddie talking about Mike at a show in Pittsburgh.  Mike's spirit lives on every time we play a Pearl jam song on The Wolf.  We had the only personalized radio station ID recorded by Eddie Vedder in the country and we still play it to this day.

That interview with Eddie Vedder was in Columbus, Ohio after Pearl Jam opened up for the Red Hot Chili Peppers - Nov. 19, 1991. Parts of this clip can be heard in the Pearl Jam Twenty documentary by Cameron Crowe. Here is the plaque that hangs in the Wolf Studio in his memory
