Billy Corgan has a bunch of big plans for this year -- but none of them seem to be a reunion of the original Smashing Pumpkins lineup.
In a Facebook post, Corgan says he has four projects in the works. The first is called Thirty Days, and he'll be traveling the country and documenting the people he meets with video posts. He says, "There will be new musical pieces, interviews with people, and we're going to try to document this journey to come up with some collective vision."
The second project is 50 by 50 -- a collection of Corgan's 50 favorite songs in honor of his 50th birthday on March 17th. He'll be seeking fan input for the list and plans to record them all for a compilation to be released at the end of 2017.
The third project is a covers album and the fourth is a new original album this year. "I am sort of remiss to play new music too soon, so I won't necessarily be sharing that music, but I'd like to at least talk about some of the process involved."
