SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT FOR BURT REYNOLD'S BIRTHDAY

Burt Reynolds was born 2-11-36.  Smokey and The Bandit is one of my all time favorite movies.  It had it all, CB radios, big rigs, car chases, a hot Trans-Am and a cool theme song by Jerry Reed. It's all funny to watch it on TV because they have to edit so many of Jackie Gleason's lines.  The Bandit's name is only mentioned once in the movie.. It's Bo Danville.. It was the second highest grossing movie of 1977 behind Star Wars and Mike Henry who played Junior played linebacker for the Steelers.

The actor's long career includes such films as The Longest Yard, Boogie Nights (for which he received a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination), Heat, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Semi-Tough and all the Smokey and the Bandit and Cannonball Run movies.  Burt passed on Terms Of Endearment to make Stroker Ace...whoops..
