On August 1, 2001, Warren, Ohio Pro Bowl offensive tackle Korey Stringer dies of heat stroke, one day after collapsing at the Minnesota Vikings' training camp.
Stringer was born in Warren, Ohio.[1] He graduated from Warren G. Harding High School in 1992. Stringer went to Ohio State where he played from 1992 to 1994. His Buckeyes teammates included offensive tackle Orlando Pace and running backs Eddie George and Robert Smith. As a junior in 1994, he was a consensus first-team All-American.
