The Concert for Bangladesh was organised by George Harrison and Indian sitar master Ravi Shankar. The shows were organised to raise awareness and fund relief efforts for refugees from East Pakistan following the Bangladesh Liberation War.
The event was the first-ever major benefit concert and featured Ringo Starr, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Billy Preston, Leon Russell and the band Badfinger. The film was released on March 23, 1972.
The Concert was the inspiration for projects that followed such as Live Aid and Farm Aid. It raised awareness and over 12 million dollars.
This is one of my favorite clips from the show. Bob Dylan and George Harrison rehearsing "If Not For You."
