Remembering Korey Stringer on 17th anniversary of his death

On August 1, 2001, Warren Pro Bowl offensive tackle Korey Stringer dies of heat stroke, one day after collapsing at the Minnesota Vikings' training camp.

Stringer was born in Warren. He graduated from Harding High School in 1992. Stringer played for Ohio State from 92 to 94. His Buckeyes teammates included offensive tackle Orlando Pace and running backs Eddie George and Robert Smith. As a junior in 1994, he was a consensus first-team All-American.

KOREY'S HIGHLIGHT REEL FROM HARDING HIGH SCHOOL.. Say what you want about Warren, but the city has produced a lot of pro football players.  Aaron Brown, Joey, Keith and Ross Browner, Doug Datish, Van DeCree, Dave Herron, Mario Manningham, Antwan Molden, De'Veon Smith, and of course Paul Warfield.
