Monkees Rare 1969 Silent 8mm Movie Warren, Ohio

Peter Tork, the guitarist from the 1960s TV sensation The Monkees, died February 21. He was 77. Here is a rare silent clip from when the Monkees played at Mollenkoph Stadium when the Trumbull County Fair was held in downtown Warren. Even though it says Indianapolis, you can see it was a Mollenkoph Stadium. HERE IS THE SET LIST FROM THAT SHOW.

WhenThe Monkees started on NBC in 1966, Peter was just 24-years-old and the band's oldest member. Even though they started out as a made for TV band to cash in on the popularity of The Beatles, they evolved into a real group and had No. 1 hits like "I'm a Believer," as well as four No. 1 albums. The other members of the band included Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith and Davy Jones. Davy passed away from a heart attack in 2012. He was 66.

Smash Mouth did a cover of "I'm A Believer" in 2001.
