On 12-15-91 The Wolf lost a 22 year old intern named Michael Laird in an auto accident. Michael became friends with Pearl Jam when they played Ohio for the first time and interviewed Eddie Vedder on top of a bridge. Here is the plaque that hangs in the Wolf Studio in his memory. Below is a portion of Michael's interview with Eddie after Pearl Jam opened up for the Red Hot Chili Peppers - Nov. 19, 1991. Parts of this clip can be heard in the Pearl Jam Twenty documentary by Cameron Crowe. There is also a video of Eddie talking about Mike at a show in Pittsburgh. Gone but not forgotten, Mike's memory lives on every time we play Pearl Jam on The Wolf.
