Mind-Blowing Scene In Beatles Film Shows McCartney Craft A Hit In Minutes

Peter Jackson's new documentary, The Beatles: Get Back is for many Beatles fans the fly-on-the-wall experience they never thought they could get.

The film's three parts total more than six hours in run time and depict the Fab Four as they were during those several weeks in January of 1969, with no frills or commentary.

They joke around, they argue, they get bored and they write some of the most timeless music ever created.

One scene that left many fans utterly stunned shows Paul McCartney beginning to craft the documentary's title track, "Get Back," from absolutely nothing.

Paul, George Harrison, Ringo Starr and the filmmakers are sitting around the set one morning waiting for John Lennon and Yoko Ono to arrive so they can begin their session. Paul begins strumming away on his bass with George on guitar across from him and Ringo looking on.

In the clip above, you can see Paul go from having nothing at the 35-second mark to pursuing a nascent song idea just one minute later. George lets out a yawn as Paul begins to craft the first verse of "Get Back."

An edit around two minutes jumps to Paul, George and Ringo jamming through the verse idea. The feel hasn't been locked in yet, but the direction is unmistakeable. Paul finds the title lyric just as John strolls in to pick up his guitar and join in.
