If you thought you were going to be seeing Dave Grohl performing on the Grammys with hip-hop artists Anderson Paak and A Tribe Called Quest, guess again.
The Recording Academy has sent out a press release apologizing "to all parties involved" for "prematurely" announcing Grohl's participation earlier this week.
Maybe it's just a coincidence, but it comes the day after Billboard.com ran a story titled "Dave Grohl Is the King of the Unlikely Grammy Collaboration." The piece critiqued each of Grohl's half dozen Grammy appearances over the past decade -- including Foo Fighters performances with jazz pianist Chick Corea and young violinist Ann Marie Calhoun -- and called most of them "awkward." It also described Grohl as "cuddly Foo Fighters frontman and professional all-things-music celebrator."
