A7X, DISTURBED, CHEVELLE: Crew Member Dies in Tour Accident

Tragedy struck the European tour by Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed and Chevelle on Monday when a crew member died in an accident after their show in Stuttgart, Germany.

An as yet unidentified 19-year-old worker was crushed by a 26-year-old stagehand who fell off the rigging while breaking down the stage. The 26-year-old was last reported in critical condition.

Avenged Sevenfold and Disturbed expressed their horror on Facebook. A7F called it "beyond heartbreaking" and "a stark reminder of how quickly an accident can happen and [leave] lives shattered in the process." Disturbed wrote that "this horrible tragedy is almost too much to bear. We dedicate the rest of this tour to our fallen brothers. Life is precious and can end in an instant. Make every moment of yours count."

The bands cancelled Tuesday's Milan, Italy show, but apparently not due to the events of the night before. A7F singer M. Shadows was suffering from a sore throat. The tour resumes Thursday in Vienna, Austria.
