Nickelback joined an elite group of artists Monday.
The group announced that its fifth album, 2005's All the Right Reasons, has now passed 10 million sales and equivalent streams and been certified Diamond by the RIAA. It becomes the 117th album ever to reach that plateau and Nickelback the 77th different act with at least one Diamond award.
In a release, guitarist Ryan Peake thanked those who've supported them and said the band "never imagined this would be possible" and that they're "humbled and so grateful 10 million times over."
Nickelback is the fourth Canadian artist to go Diamond, but the first group and the first males. They follow Shania Twain, who has three 10 million sellers, Celine Dion, who has two, and Alanis Morissette.
The band is now working on its ninth album, Feed the Machine, which comes out June 9th.
