U2: Mining the Archive for Record Store Day

U2 is taking part in Record Store Day on April 22nd with a special release: a 12-inch vinyl picture disc of "Red Hill Mining Town," remixed from the track on The Joshua Tree

The new mix was done by Steve Lillywhite. The single will be issued in two versions, each featuring a different photo of the band by Anton Corbijn.

"Red Hill Mining Town" was inspired by Bono's reading of Red Hill: A Mining Community by Tony Parker and was planned as the album's second single, but was replaced at the last minute by "I Still Haven't Found What I’m Looking For."

The “Red Hill Mining Town” remix will also be on the 30th anniversary deluxe and super deluxe editions of The Joshua Tree, which come out June 2nd.
